SAINT ULRIC, Louisiana (CNM) -- Bowl organizers announced Thursday that Twin Forks State (8-3) will face Saint Ulric Tech (9-2) in the Fruitcake Bowl on December 29, the last bowl game of the century.

The winner will receive the traditional trophy: a 40-pound bronze fruitcake. Each player will also receive an actual fruitcake. "Many of them will give it to someone else," a bowl official acknowledged. "That is part of the tradition."
Twin Forks State features the nation's leading rusher, senior tailback Marcus Oyelaran, who ran for 1,840 yards this season. Saint Ulric Tech's defense allowed only 11 points a game.
Tickets are still available. Organizers promised a halftime show featuring 300 marching-band members dressed as candied cherries.
