DRY SPOON, Arizona (CNM) -- The Dry Spoon Scorpions ended a dismal season with a surprising change at the top: they fired coach Ray Bixby and hired his twin brother, Roy, a longtime assistant with another team.

"We wanted a fresh face," said team owner Lyle Garrity. Asked whether it was in fact the same face, he said, "Fresh in spirit."
Roy Bixby said he and his brother have "very different philosophies," noting that he prefers to pass on third down. Ray Bixby said he wished his brother well and planned to attend games "in a fake mustache, so people can tell us apart."
The Scorpions finished 1-11, their only win coming against a team whose bus broke down in the desert and arrived at halftime.
