Q: Is Snapster free? A: Yes. Snapster is free. The modem, the phone line and the electricity are your problem. Q: What does the colored dot next to a song mean? A: It shows the line speed of the user who has the file. Green: cable, DSL, T1 — fast. Yellow: 56K or ISDN — fine. Red: 14.4 to 33.6 — go do your homework while you wait. Gray: unknown, which usually means "red". Q: Why does my download say "Remote user cancelled"? A: The other user stopped sharing, signed off, or their mom picked up the phone. It is not personal. Probably. Q: What is "ping"? A: How long it takes for a little message to go to the other computer and back, in milliseconds. Lower is better. Anything over 500 means they are on the moon, or on a free dial-up trial disc. Q: How do I share my music? A: Put your MP3s in your shared folder (see the Library tab). Then leave your computer on. Then leave it on some more. Your roommate will love it. Q: Can I download the whole Internet? A: No. We asked. It does not fit on a Zip disk. Q: Will Snapster work after Y2K? A: It is the year 2000. It already does. Please let Bob out of the bunker. Q: Why can't I find any Shiny Metallic Things songs? A: Please see our Legal Department. Bring a broom. Q: I am firewalled at school. Can I still use Snapster? A: You can download from people who are not firewalled. Two firewalled people cannot talk to each other, which is also true of most dorm floors. Q: How do I get rid of the turtle? A: You don't. The turtle is forever. Still stuck? Ask in the #Help chat channel.
