RadioRhombus contest

ground zero

ground zero is where the Snapster community talks about music: who's new, who's touring, and who has 47 trombones.

SCENE REPORT
Swing revival refuses to end, now entering its fourth "final" summer
Our correspondents report that the swing revival, declared over in March, then in May, then again in July, continues at full tilt. "We just bought the shoes," explains one lindy hopper. "We are not stopping until we get our money's worth."

SKA WATCH
Local ska band adds tenth trombonist; stage collapses gently
The Checkerboard Tuxedo Revue added a tenth trombone player on Friday. The venue added a sign that reads "MAX 9 TROMBONES". Nobody was hurt, but several slides were bent.

INTERVIEW
Five minutes with DJ Dialtone
Q: Your new single is just the sound of a modem connecting. Why?
A: It is the sound of our generation. Also, I could not afford a sampler.

CONTEST: RadioRhombus.com wants to give you a 32 MB MP3 player! That's almost eight songs at 128 kbps, or one jam band song. To enter, tell us in 25 words or fewer why you deserve it. Entries accepted by fax only. (Contest is pretend. So is the fax.)

Hear it: the official Snapster startup jingle (MIDI, 1 KB — plays on your sound card's finest kazoo patch).
