Snapster 2.0 Beta 5 for Windows 95/98/NT is here. It's free, it's small, and it is only a little bit beta.
snapster20b5.exe · 1.4 MB · about 7 minutes at 28.8
Installing: double-click snapster20b5.exe, click Next about eleven times, choose your shared folder, tell us your line speed (honestly!), and you're in. What's new in Beta 5:
· Hot List remembers your friends even after a crash
· Search results now sorted by ping, so the fastest strangers come first
· Fixed a bug where the turtle icon would spin forever
· Added a bug where the turtle icon spins a little bit
· "Remote user cancelled" now 12% more polite Macintosh: Snaptosh is coming. A fellow named Tosh is writing it. In a garage. On a beige machine that he swears he will paint blue.
Linux: the source is in your heart. Compile it. Or skip all that and launch the Web Edition.
