GRISTMILL FALLS, Ohio (CNM) -- At Clip Joint barbershop in Gristmill Falls, owner Sal Petrucci says he now frosts the tips of about 20 customers a week. Two years ago, he did none.

"First it was teenagers. Then their fathers," Petrucci said. "Last week I did a dentist. He said it was for his patients. I said, 'Your patients have their eyes closed.'"
The look -- short, spiky hair with bleached ends -- was popularized by members of vocal groups such as the Alleyway Boys. Stylists say it has crossed age lines as men seek a youthful look for the new millennium.
Not everyone approves. "My husband came home with yellow hair," said Linda Mohr of Gristmill Falls. "He looks like a dandelion. A dandelion with a mortgage."
