BELLWETHER, Iowa (CNM) -- In May, fans waited in line for weeks to see "Star Saga: The First Episode." Now toy stores are discovering that enthusiasm for the movie did not extend to all of its merchandise.

Clearance bins are overflowing with action figures of Bobo Bimbleworth, the film's gangly comic-relief alien, who has been widely criticized by fans. At one Bellwether store, the figures are priced at 99 cents, "or free with any purchase over $10."
"We cannot give him away," said store manager Kevin Pruitt. "We tried. A man returned one."
Collectors predict that the figures will one day be rare and valuable. "That is what they told me about my Plushie Pals," said one shopper, declining a Bobo.
