Red Hot Chili Page

Three-time winner of the Wichita Firehouse Chili Cook-Off. Here is my recipe (well, MOST of it).

The Recipe

Firehouse Five-Alarm Chili
Serves 10

• 2 lb ground beef
• 1 lb hot sausage
• 2 cans kidney beans
• 2 cans crushed tomatoes
• 3 jalapenos
• 3 tbsp chili powder
• 1 tbsp cumin
• 1 bottle of beer (optional)
• 1 square dark chocolate

Brown the meats. Add everything else. Simmer at least 3 hours. The chocolate is the secret. Do not tell the judges.
