The Glacier Shrine

I have seen The Glacier in the theater ELEVEN times. The story of the luxury airship Majestica and the iceberg-covered mountain that brought it down is the most beautiful love story ever told. Finn and Rosalind forever!!!

Now playing: Heartthrob Ballad

PLOT

In 1912, the luxury airship Majestica sets off across the Arctic. Rosalind is a rich girl engaged to a mean man named Cal-something. Finn is a poor artist who won his ticket in a card game. They fall in love on the observation deck. Then the airship hits a glacier. I will not tell you the ending. (It is sad.)

The special effects are amazing, especially when the airship tips over and everybody slides down the ballroom. And the music! I have the soundtrack and I play it every night.

BEST SCENES

  1. The dance party below decks with the fiddle.
  2. The band playing as the ship goes down.
  3. When Finn wins the ticket.
  4. The ending. I can't even talk about it.
  5. The drawing scene. *blush*
  6. The old couple holding hands in their cabin.
  7. "Never let go, Rosalind."
  8. "I'm flying!" on the front of the gondola.

FINN FACTS

  • The actor who plays Finn, Brock Delaney, is 24 years old and his favorite food is spaghetti.
  • They built a real airship for the movie. Well, half of one.
  • The glacier was made of 400 tons of styrofoam.
  • The necklace is called the Heart of the North.
