A boy at a desert camp digs one hole a day, and finds a family curse at the bottom. Short of hiring the author to come read it aloud, this is the best way to experience the book. --Orinoco.com staff

5 out of 5 stars Stayed up until 3 a.m., June 9, 1999
Reviewer: Dennis T. from Reno, NV
I bought this on a whim and ended up recommending it to everyone at work. Louis Sachar-Bell has a real gift for making you care about every page.

Parts of this are terrific and parts of it feel like they were written to fill pages.
